Sweetest most thoughtful family of four is seeking a perfect Nanny companion for their 2yo girl and  4mo boy in South Durham JOB 148

This is a temporary Nanny opportunity from now until June, with the possibility of returning to the position after summer break.

In what the family likes to describe the position as a Child Development Caretaker, they are looking for  someone who is loving, curious, and compassionate to teach important qualities and others to their toddler and a 4mo baby. They are looking for care from approximately 9:30 to 4pm Monday-Thursday,  with flexibility to make the position work for the right candidate.

When asked, the parents describe their two kiddo’s interests as:

She loves building, drawing, and pretending. She loves letters and identifying them wherever she sees  them. She also is loving to “run fast” and play with sand. Also, he is tracking bright and colorful toys,  cooing at every smiling face, fascinated by lights, and seems to be a big fan of Rat Pack music.

The kids will have two snacks and lunch daily. The laundry for the kids is usually constantly running so  helping with that is a necessity. They have their oldest in two-day a weekly pre-school in the morning (all  teachers are vaccinated, and kids play outside most of day) and they would need someone to help pick  her up from there.

The family is observant of the Conscious Discipline philosophy. This approach focuses on Safety,  Connection and Problem Solving. Pretty much, it is about helping kids learn what emotions are and learn  how to self-regulate appropriately through clear expectations, boundary setting, and empathy. The  family is absolutely looking for a Nanny that will love their children just as they do with a creative  foundation and developing mentality for the milestones that make for a happy child upbringing.

They are quite COVID-19 cautious seeking someone who is taking similar precautions. The position  would run starting this November 2021 and end June 2022, and in an ideal world, they would love to  find someone who is interested in resuming a school year schedule the next school year(s) as well!

This may be the sweetest answer to our typical question of: Give a description of your ideal nanny? We  spent some time trying to figure out what “ideal” was and couldn’t really put things into bullet points.  So, we wrote an IMAGINARY letter to a nanny as if she/he had been with us for many years and recently  decided to pursue their next adventure.

    Dear Nanny X,

Things are well here, and we hope everything is going better than you could have imagined. B and H  miss you immensely, and their letters as well as drawings to you are enclosed. I am not exactly sure  what it is H drew but he said you would know. I write to you from our porch in the woods while both  kids are playing in the sandbox- still endlessly entertaining!

The stroller has finally called it quits after all those walks around the neighborhood and adventures to  nearby parks. Seems silly to feel as if a chapter is ending as I figure out what to do with a big ol’ double  stroller. Leaves me a bit sentimental reflecting on the past years.

So immensely grateful for all of your wisdom, insight, and fun as we taught B and H all about the  world…especially in the early years when the pandemic was still keeping the world so much smaller–and  every connection seemed to matter that much more.

B, thank goodness, learned to have better handwriting from you, rather than me, and just received her  first report card- with high marks in that category. H has outgrown nearly all of the clothes, again, and I

am washing the two outfits that do fit, daily, as B and H have taken to regular puddle jumping this spring  after school. I will send pictures- of the kids, not their clothes-no one wants pictures of clothes.

And do let us live vicariously through your adventure. Write back when you can; Facetime if/when your  schedule allows.

    Warmly,

    JW, E, B and H
